Penn Medicine hospital names CEO

Bob Russell has been named CEO of Philadelphia-based Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, part of Penn Medicine.

Mr. Russell assumes the role after serving as acting CEO since September 2022, according to a news release. He succeeds Michele Volpe, who became COO of the University of Pennsylvania Health System on Sept. 1, 2022, after a 23-year run as CEO of Penn Presbyterian.

Mr. Russell previously served as COO and associate executive director at Penn Presbyterian.
