Dr. DuGan, a board-certified internist, previously served as vice president and CMO for Penn Highlands DuBois, a hospital affiliated with the health system, since 2007.
The newly created position will focus on quality and patient safety and influence clinical strategy and integration.
Dr. DuGan is a certified physician executive of the American College of Physician Executives and has a master of medical management degree from New Orleans-based Tulane University. He earned his medical degree from Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University.
