PeaceHealth leader Alan Yordy to retire next year

Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth has announced Alan Yordy, MBA, president and chief mission officer, will retire effective June 30, 2015, according to The Columbian.

Mr. Yordy has spent 33 years in healthcare, 25 of them with PeaceHealth. In 1999 Mr. Yordy became COO of PeaceHealth Oregon Region and later became CEO and chief mission officer of the region. In 2004, he was named PeaceHealth's president and chief mission officer, according to the report.

During his tenure, Mr. Yordy led several major projects, including growing PeaceHealth Medical Group from 250 providers to 850, building Cottage Grove (Ore.) Community Medical Center, Peace Island Medical Center in Friday Harbor, Wash., and helping fund the improvement of PeaceHealth Medical Center in Ketchikan, Alaska.

Prior to joining PeaceHealth, Mr. Yordy served in several leadership positions, including assistant administrator for strategy and planning at Sacred Heart General Hospital in Eugene, Ore., and CEO of Mid-Valley Healthcare in Lebanon, Ore.
