Paul VerValin is Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s interim president

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., named Paul VerValin interim president. Mr. VerValin is currently COO of Sayre-based The Guthrie Clinic.

Mr. VerValin’s previous leadership roles include serving as president and chief administrative officer of Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Physicians Group and senior vice president of Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville.

Mr. VerValin is taking over as leader of Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie’s flagship hospital, following the departure of Marie Droege. During her tenure, Ms. Droege oversaw a number of projects, including the construction of two new replacement hospitals in Troy, Pa. and Corning, N.Y.

Guthrie will soon begin a nationwide search for a permanent replacement.
