Mr. Baxter’s immediate future plans do not involve working in the healthcare industry. He is departing “good terms and with Parkview in a solid position,” Jeff Tucker, a hospital spokesman told The Pueblo Chieftain.

Mr. Baxter became CEO of the hospital in April 2009. During his tenure, the hospital added a 92,000-square-foot tower expansion, established an internal residency program and constructed a 22,000-square-foot outpatient center. Mr. Baxter worked at Parkview for two decades in total.

Leslie Barnes, Parkview’s senior vice president and COO, will succeed Mr. Baxter as CEO, according to the report.
