OSF HealthCare drops 'interim' from central region CEO Dr. Michael Cruz's title: 4 takeaways

Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare named Michael Cruz, MD, permanent CEO for the central region.

Here are four takeaways:

1. Dr. Cruz most recently served as president of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, a role he had held since 2015.

2. In addition to serving as OSF Saint Francis' president, he had been serving as interim central region CEO for OSF HealthCare since January.

3. The central region includes OSF Saint Francis and OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria, as well as the broader region to the north and south of the Peoria tri-county area.

4. Robert Anderson, who previously served as COO of OSF Saint Francis, has taken over as president.
