Dr. Shumaker most recently served as CMO of Aventura (Fla.) Hospital and Medical Center. Both Aventura Hospital and Orange Park are a part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, where Dr. Shumaker has worked for 12 years.
He was previously with the U.S. Navy Reserve, serving two tours of active duty.
Dr. Shumaker is a trained internist.
