Fairfield Medical Center President and CEO John “Jack” Janoso Jr. will step down upon completion of the Lancaster, Ohio-based system’s pending partnership agreement with Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Health, according to a statement shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Janoso shared his decision Aug. 11, according to the statement. He has not announced an official departure date and intends to remain with the organization for the rest of the transition process.
Fairfield and Adena signed a nonbinding letter of intent June 1 and are nearing finalization of a definitive agreement, the statement said.
Mr. Janoso was named president and CEO of Fairfield Medical Center in September 2014.
“Over the past 12 years, it has been a true privilege to serve in this role and I have valued the opportunity to work alongside a team of people who are committed to delivering high-quality, personalized care,” he said in the statement. “I believe this proposed partnership with Adena Health is the path we are meant to follow.”
Mr. Janoso said Adena’s leaders understand what the hospital means to its community and that he is confident they will honor Fairfield’s legacy.
Fairfield Medical Center is a nonprofit system that employs more than 2,000 caregivers and serves more than 250,000 residents across five Ohio counties, according to its website. Adena Health operates four hospitals with 341 beds and employs more than 4,000 people across a nine-county service area in South Central and Southern Ohio.
