Al Patin, RN, is leaving his role as CEO of Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Louisiana to become CEO of Ochsner South Shore Community Hospitals and the Bayou Region, effective Aug. 3, according to a July 22 statement shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Patin has been with the organization for 23 years, serving the last five as CEO of Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. His new role is a newly designated position with strategic oversight of eight hospitals in the greater New Orleans area, including Ochsner Baptist, Ochsner Medical Center Kenner, Ochsner Medical Center West Campus, St. Charles Parish Hospital, St. Bernard Parish Hospital, Ochsner St. Mary, Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center and Ochsner St. Anne, according to The Advocate. Existing hospital CEOs will remain in place.
Patrick W. Gandy Jr., CEO of the Ochsner Lafayette General region, will announce new leadership for Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in the coming weeks.
“While we will certainly miss Al in Acadiana, we are proud of him and excited for him as he begins this next chapter,” Mr. Gandy said in a statement. “Our focus remains unchanged: delivering exceptional care and service to the patients and communities who rely on us every day.”
New Orleans-based Ochsner Health is a nonprofit health system in the Gulf South, with 47 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers.
