Novant Health has appointed three leaders to expanded regional president roles across North Carolina, effective June 1. The Winston-Salem, N.C.-based system said leadership in its South Carolina region is unchanged.

Chris Bowe was named senior vice president and regional president of the Charlotte Region, according to a June 3 health system news release. Mr. Bowe most recently served as senior vice president and president of Novant’s Triad Region.

Alisha Hutchens was named senior vice president and regional president of the Triad Region. Ms. Hutchens will continue to serve as president of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and Novant Health Medical Park Hospital, both in Winston-Salem, until a new leader is named.

Laurie Whalin, PharmD, was named senior vice president and regional president of the Coastal Region. Dr. Whalin continues to serve as president of Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.

Jason Bernd will continue as senior vice president and regional president of the South Carolina Region.

The appointments build on the regional, market-based leadership model Novant Health established in early 2025 to align regional, clinical and enterprise leaders across its Carolinas footprint.
