Mr. Emory has served as executive vice president and chief legal officer since January. His role now expands to include oversight of human resources, diversity, inclusion and health equity.
Before joining Novant Health, he was a partner at international law firm Hunton Andrews Kurth.
He is the current chairman of the board of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, per an appointment by Gov. Roy Cooper. He is a past president of the Mecklenburg County Bar and spent eight years on the North Carolina Board of Transportation.
In 2001, he received North Carolina’s highest civic awardm, Order of the Long Leaf Pine.
Mr. Emory earned his law degree at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
