Northwestern Memorial HealthCare names new chief marketing executive

Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial HealthCare has named Mark Modesto vice president and chief marketing executive, effective Aug. 15, the health system announced.

Mr. Modesto has more than three decades of experience in marketing, advertising and brand management. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and managing director of Epsilon Agency, a marketing and advertising group.

Before joining Epsilon, Mr. Modesto spent almost a decade moving through the ranks at Foote, Cone & Belding, also known as FCB, one of the largest global advertising agency networks. There, he was president of FCB Chicago, where he focused on agency growth and significantly increased the revenue of the Chicago office, according to Northwestern. He was later promoted to the president of FCB's North America division, where he was responsible for overseeing offices in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Toronto and Montreal.

Mr. Modesto earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in Columbia and holds a master's degree in integrated marketing/advertising from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications in Evanston, Ill.
