Northwell Health hires Dr. Alessandro Di Rocco to lead movement disorders program: 4 points

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health selected Alessandro Di Rocco, MD, to serve as director of its movement disorders program.

Here are four points:

1. Dr. Di Rocco will also serve as a professor of neurology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, N.Y.

2. Most recently, he served as founding director of New York City-based New York University Langone Medical Center’s Marlene and Paolo Fresco Institute for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders.

3. He serves on the board of directors of the Parkinson’s Foundation and is a past president of the Melvin Yahr International Parkinson’s Foundation.

4. Dr. Di Rocco is on the organizing committee of the World Congress of the International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders and on the editorial board of Neurodegenerative Disease Management.
