Northwell Health Cancer Institute names Dr. Noah Kauff cancer genetics chief

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health Cancer Institute hired Noah D. Kauff, MD, to serve as chief of cancer genetics, according to a Long Island Weekly report.

Dr. Kauff, who joined the institute Aug. 14, previously served as director of clinical cancer genetics at the Duke Cancer Institute, part of Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System. He was director of the ovarian cancer screening and prevention program at New York City-based Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Kauff is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.

In his new role, Dr. Kauff will oversee the development and incorporation of cancer genetics, which includes genetic counseling for those with a predisposition to the disease, to improve cancer care at the health system.
