North Kansas City Hospital appoints Doug Abel CIO: 3 notes

North Kansas City (Mo.) Hospital selected Doug Abel to serve as CIO, according to a Kansas City Business Journal report.

Here are three notes:

1. Mr. Abel previously served as managing director of strategy and planning for Encore Health Resources, a Quintiles company based in Houston.

2. Prior to that, he was vice president of solution delivery for Overland Park, Kan.-based Netsmart as well as vice president at North Kansas City-based Cerner.

3. North Kansas City Hospital, a 451-bed facility, saw 21,000 admissions in 2015.
