North Carolina system names interim COO

Michael Tart was appointed interim COO for Fayetteville, N.C.-based Cape Fear Valley Health.

A native of Harnett County, Mr. Tart has been with the organization for more than 10 years, according to a Feb. 27 health system news release.

Most recently, he served as president of Dunn, N.C.-based Cape Fear Valley Harnett Healthcare and president of Cape Fear Valley Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville. He also previously held several other leadership roles at Cape Fear Valley Health, including vice president of ambulatory services, executive director of Cape Fear Valley Medical Group and director of finance for ambulatory services.

The health system said Mr. Tart will continue serving as president of Cape Fear Valley Harnett Healthcare.

Cape Fear Valley Health operates eight hospitals and more than 150 locations across southeastern North Carolina, according to its website.
