The news comes days after Dartmouth-Hitchcock revealed plans to lay off between 270 and 460 employees by the end of the year. New Hampshire officials approved Dartmouth-Hithcock’s proposal to take over NH Hospital staffing earlier this month.
The Department of Health and Human Services will begin searching for Dr. Folks’ replacement, according to department officials. Dr. Folks made no mention of the proposed layoffs in his statment annoucing his depature.
Dr. Folks served as hospital CMO since 2008 and is a Dartmouth-Hitchcock employee, according to the article.
Earlier this month, Dartmouth-Hitchcock CEO James Weinstein said New Hampshire Hospital employees will not be affected by the layoffs.
