NewYork-Presbyterian appoints new legal chief: 4 things to know

New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian selected Mary Beth Claus to serve as group senior vice president, chief legal officer and general counsel, effective in March 2019.

Here are four things to know:

1. Most recently, Ms. Claus served as senior vice president and general counsel at Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health.

2. She has prior experience as deputy chief legal officer for Cleveland Clinic and a partner in the healthcare sections of two private law firms.

3. She has served as on the board of directors for MDwise and as a chairperson for the Indiana Children’s Trust Fund.

4. Ms. Claus succeeds Maxine Frank, who will transition into a new role as a senior advisor.
