Ms. Gleason has been with Newton Medical Center since 2004. Before being named CEO, she was the chief clinical integration officer.

As CEO, Ms. Gleason is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations. With the addition of her role, she will also oversee strategic planning, physician relations, business development and operational issues.

She is replacing Steven G. Kelly, who has served at the helm of the hospital for the past 16 years. He is slowing transitioning out of his roles as president and CEO.

“Over the past several months since becoming CEO, [Ms. Gleason] has worked side-by-side with Steve to ensure a strong continuity of cohesive leadership. She is uniquely positioned to take our hospital to the next level and I look forward to our continued success,” said Ray Penner, chair of Newton Medical Center’s board of directors in a statement.
