Newport Hospital selects new CMO: 4 notes

Newport (R.I.) Hospital has appointed Jeffrey Gaines, MD, vice president of medical affairs and CMO, effective July 1.

Four notes:

1. Dr. Gaines has worked in Newport Hospital’s emergency department for the last decade.

2. He was medical staff president in 2016-2017.

3. He is a clinical assistant professor in the emergency medicine department of the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University in Providence, R.I.

4. Dr. Gaines is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
