New York chief physician executive to retire

The chief physician executive at Utica, N.Y.-based Mohawk Valley Health System is retiring at the end of January, radio station WIBX reported Dec. 5.

Kent Hall, MD, has been practicing medicine since the early 1980s and was instrumental in opening the system’s new Wynn Hospital in Utica. 

At the health system, he is responsible for overseeing the medical staff on the St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Faxton St. Luke’s campuses and works directly with department chairs, directors of contracted medical groups and hospital-based physicians to coordinate patient care and safety efficiently, according to the report.
