Tonya Richards has been appointed chief human resources officer of University Hospital in Newark, N.J., she wrote in a Sept. 23 LinkedIn post.
Ms. Richards most recently served as vice president of human resources and organizational development at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City, according to her LinkedIn profile. Before stepping into that role in 2022, she was executive director of human resources and academic affairs at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City.
“Thank you to the leadership for the opportunity and the trust,” she wrote in the post. “Excited for what’s ahead and ready to get to work with the team for the people who make this place extraordinary.”
University Hospital is an independent medical center with more than 500 licensed beds and more than 3,000 employees, according to its LinkedIn page.
