New Jersey Hospital Association appoints Steven Littleson board chairman

The New Jersey Hospital Association elected Steven G. Littleson to serve as board chairman. He is the president of the hospital services division and COO of Montclair, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health.

Mr. Littleson replaces Leslie D. Hirsch, president of New Brunswick, N.J.-based Saint Peter's Healthcare System, who led the board for a two-year term.

Prior to his current role at Hackensack Meridian, Mr. Littleson served as the executive vice president of Montclair, N.J.-based Meridian Health and president of the Meridian Hospitals Corp. Prior to that, he was president of Neptune City, N.J.-based Jersey Shore Medical Center.

"As fast as our industry has been changing in the last couple of years, it is hard to imagine the pace of change getting any faster. But it has to. In fact, the challenge to all of us is that this year — 2017 — may well be a year of unprecedented change in our industry," Mr. Littleson said at NJHA's 98th Annual Meeting in Princeton, N.J., on Jan. 20, 2017.

The association includes close to 400 healthcare organizations.
