New England Quality Care Alliance appoints new CEO: 4 things to know

New England Quality Care Alliance, a nonprofit, physician network of Boston-based Tufts Medical Center, has appointed Joseph Frolkis, MD, PhD, president and CEO, effective June 6.

Here are four things to know about Dr. Frolkis.

1. He has served as CMO of NEQCA.

2. Prior to joining NEQCA as CMO, Dr. Frolkis was director of primary care, associate chief of the division of general medicine and primary care, and vice chairman for primary care in the department of medicine at Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital. 

3. Dr. Frolkis also previously was president and CEO of New Milford Hospital, a 95-bed community hospital that was part of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System. He also served as chief of the division of general medicine, geriatrics and healthcare research at University Hospitals in Cleveland and Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, and director of clinical operations in the preventive cardiology program at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

4. In his new role, Dr. Frolkis will succeed Jeffrey I. Lasker, MD, who is retiring.
