Nebraska hospital CEO resigns

The board of trustees for Chadron (Neb.) Community Hospital and Health Services has accepted the resignation of Nathan Hough as CEO.

Mr. Hough's resignation is effective Feb. 16, according to a news release. Jennifer Brown, the hospital's CFO since April 2017, was selected to serve as interim CEO after his departure.

Mr. Hough is leaving the helm "to pursue a new opportunity closer to family," the release states.

Mr. Hough said in the release: "I want to thank everyone that has helped to make Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services a top critical access hospital. It has been a great honor to work with our patients, community, board and team over the past three years. I look forward to closely following the future success of Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services and wish the board, and the entire team, all the best."

Mr. Hough has served as CEO of Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services since May 2020. He assumed the role after holding CEO roles at Crook County Medical Services District in Sundance, Wyo.; Niobrara County Hospital District in Lusk, Wyo.; and Saratoga (Wyo.) Care Center.

"We sincerely thank Nathan for his contributions to Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services and for laying the foundation for the next phase of growth and care for our community and surrounding areas," Curt Plooster, president of the board of trustees for Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services, said in the release. "The board remains focused on Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services reaching its full potential and will work to ensure this transition is smooth while we undertake the search process."
