Nate White. COO of Sanford Health (Sioux Falls, S.D.). Mr. White, 38, first joined Sanford Health in 2000 as an executive intern before moving on to become associate general counsel following a break to earn a law degree at the University of Kansas. Since his COO appointment, Mr. White has led efforts to improve both financial performance and care delivery for Sanford Health, which has locations in nine states and is the largest rural, nonprofit healthcare system in the nation. His efforts resulted in more than $100 million in savings and a 3.3 percent net operating margin across the system’s 45 hospitals.
