Michael Wiederhold, MD. Medical Director of Clinical Informatics at Florida Hospital (Orlando, Fla.). Dr. Wiederhold, 36, became medical director of clinical informatics at Florida Hospital in 2013. He previously served as medical director at Adventist Health System Information Services, where he oversaw what was at that time the largest usage of Cerner’s electronic physician note system of any Cerner client worldwide. Dr. Wiederhold serves as the physician leader over the hospital’s ICD-10 transition, which includes more than 2,200 inpatient beds, 125 physician offices and 26 urgent care clinics, hospice, and home care services. He acts as the medical director for the clinical documentation improvement program, where he has made strides in helping create a physician-engaged CDI program. Dr. Wiederhold has also served on the board of directors of the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation for the past 17 years.
