Mount Sinai names hospital president

Cameron Hernandez, MD, has been appointed president and COO of Mount Sinai Queens in New York City.

Dr. Hernandez has served as the hospital’s executive director and COO since 2021, according to an April 18 Facebook post from The Mount Sinai Hospital. Under his leadership, Mount Sinai Queens has launched clinical programs including a cardiac catheterization lab and a new multispecialty practice, the post said.

He previously served as chief medical officer of the hospital. Prior to that, he was medical director of ambulatory care at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, according to the health system’s website

Dr. Hernandez is also a professor of geriatric and palliative medicine and internal medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Mount Sinai Queens is a 228-bed hospital.
