Mount Carmel Health System taps Edward Lamb to lead as CEO

Columbus, Ohio-based Mount Carmel Health System appointed Edward Lamb president and CEO. He will begin his tenure in November 2016.

Most recently, Mr. Lamb served as the western division president at Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare, where he was responsible for operations in Utah, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. Prior to that, he served as president/CEO of the Corpus Christi (Texas) Medical Center.

Mr. Lamb currently serves as a member of the Utah Hospital Association board and was a member of Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association’s board.

Mr. Lamb will take over from Roger Spoelman, interim president and CEO of the system.

“Ed is the ideal candidate to lead Mount Carmel. His broad experience and inspiring leadership are a great match to work with our colleagues in central Ohio. I’m looking forward to a seamless transition over the next few months, and I’m confident that I’m leaving Mount Carmel in the best of hands,” said Mr. Spoelman in a statement.
