Mr. Kuhn will succeed Marc Smith, who will begin his retirement after leading the association since Jan. 1998.
Mr. Kuhn currently serves as an independent healthcare consultant specializing in Medicare and Medicaid issues. Previously, Mr. Kuhn served in multiple roles at CMS, including deputy administrator and director of the Center for Medicare Management. Mr. Kuhn currently serves on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission.
