David Ratcliff, MD, is stepping down as chief medical officer of Fayetteville, Ark.-based Washington Regional Medical Center after 22 years in the role.
During his tenure, Dr. Ratcliff oversaw the development of key service lines and helped launch a graduate medical education program. He will transition out of the role Dec. 31, though will continue practicing part-time at Washington Regional Plaza Internal Medicine, according to a Dec. 17 news release. He will also continue to serve as a core faculty member for the internal medicine residency program, which is run by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Washington Regional.
The hospital’s chief quality officer, Anthony Williams, MD, will become CMO. He will oversee quality management initiatives and medical staff services. Dr. Williams has worked as a hospitalist at Washington Regional for more than 16 years. He also serves as core faculty in the internal medicine residency program.
Washington Regional is a 425-bed hospital. U.S. News & World Report has consistently ranked the facility as the top hospital in Arkansas.
