Waconia, Minn.-based Ridgeview’s president and CEO, Mike Phelps, and CFO, Aaron Bloomquist, have both shared plans to retire.
Mr. Phelps, who has been with the health system for 22 years, will retire Jan. 2, 2027, according to an April 6 news release.
He has served as CEO for nearly 10 years, and overseen Ridgeview’s nearly twofold growth in revenue and assets, including the addition of 1,000 employees over the last decade. A process has begun to identify Ridgeview’s next CEO.
Mr. Bloomquist, who has served as Ridgeview’s CFO for more than six years, will retire July 3, 2026.
“[Mr.] Bloomquist has been instrumental in helping Ridgeview make sound business and growth decisions while bringing a high standard to the practices of revenue cycle management and financial discipline,” the release said. “[Mr.] Bloomquist’s knowledge of market dynamics and his creative partnership mindset helped lead to many excellent relationships with collaborators.”
Ridgeview’s vice president of finance, Brent Wordelman, will be promoted to serve as the system’s next CFO on April 20. Mr. Wordelman has been with Ridgeview’s finance team for 12 years. In his new role, he will oversee the system’s financial, revenue cycle and treasury services.
Ridgeview is an independent, nonprofit health system that comprises four Minnesota hospital campuses in Arlington, Chaska, Le Sueur and Waconia. It also has multiple primary and specialty care clinics, emergency and ambulance services, specialty programs the Ridgeview Community Network and home health and home medical equipment services, according to its website.
