Mr. Patullo would have originally left the hospital in May 2011. WBRMC board chairman Daniel Stoneback said the decision to extend his contract comes from the high level of uncertainty surrounding healthcare reform.

According to the report, the hospital will take nine to 12 months to replace Mr. Pattullo when he retires at the end of 2011. The CEO’s current annual salary is $210,579.
