Michigan Medicine drops ‘interim’ from CIO Dr. Andrew Rosenberg’s title: 4 notes

Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine selected Andrew Rosenberg, MD, as its permanent CIO.

Here are four notes:

1. Since January 2016, Dr. Rosenberg has served as inaugural CIO role on an interim basis.

2. He was the health system’s first chief medical information officer, during which time he directed the Epic EHR implementation across the system.

3. He also created the Michigan Medicine Office of Clinical Informatics and served as its first executive director.

4. An anesthesiologist by training, Dr. Rosenberg has served in numerous clinical leadership roles at University of Michigan, including director of the critical care division in the anesthesiology department and director of the critical care medicine fellowship program.
