Michael Stenger named CEO of 3 Northwest Indiana hospital campuses: 4 things to know

Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Alliance has named Michael Stenger president and CEO of Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer, Ind. and Hammond, Ind., and Franciscan Healthcare in Munster, Ind., effective July 1, according to The Times.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Stenger.

1. Mr. Stenger has experience operating both for-profit and nonprofit hospitals, including some Catholic health systems.

2. Mr. Stenger recently served as a regional vice president for Quorum Health Resources, where he operated 10 nonprofit community hospitals in the Midwest, including in Indiana and Illinois.

3. Mr. Stenger previously worked on the for-profit side of the healthcare sector with Quorum and Humana, now part of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America.

4. Mr. Stenger is a fellow of the AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives.
