Meritus Health CEO retires: 4 things to know

Joseph P. Ross, president and CEO of Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Health, retired, effective immediately, according to The Journal.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Ross assumed the organization’s top post in 2011.

2. During his tenure, Meritus Health implemented a new EHR and opened Meritus Family Medicine and Meritus Medical Plaza, both in Hagerstown.

3. He has 45 years of experience in healthcare leadership.

4. Carolyn Simonsen, Meritus Health’s executive vice president, will serve as interim CEO.
