Mercy Health-Youngstown taps new CEO: 4 notes

Mercy Health-Youngstown (Ohio) appointed John Luellen, MD, its new CEO, according to The Business Journal.

Here are four notes:

1. Dr. Luellen has served as COO of Mercy Health-Youngstown since September.

2. Prior to that, he most recently served as the vice president and COO at Heritage Valley Health System in Hopewell, Pa.

3. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a master’s degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

4. Dr. Luellen replaces Donald Kline, who was promoted to leader of four of Cincinnati-based Mercy Health’s markets.
