Mercy Health-Allen Hospital president to retire: 4 notes

Ed Ruth, president of Mercy Health-Allen Hospital in Oberlin, Ohio, is retiring at the end of the year, according to The Morning Journal.

Here are four notes:

1. Mr. Ruth joined Cincinnati-based Mercy health 36 years ago.

2. He began his healthcare career as pharmacist, after receiving training from Columbus-based The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.

3. He will finish up his years as president of Mercy Health-Allen Hospital by helping oversee the development of a new primary care center in Wellington, Ohio, and a $2.5 million medical office building in Oberlin.

4. Mr. Ruth told The Morning Journal he will stay involved with the Mercy Health Foundation after his retirement.
