McLaren Health Care names Dr. Robert Flora chief academic officer/designated institutional officer

Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care appointed Robert F. Flora, MD, MBA, chief academic officer/designated institutional officer. He is also a professor and associate chair for education of obstetrics and gynecology at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing.

Dr. Flora most recently served as director of medical education and designated institutional officer at Providence-Providence Park Hospital in Southfield and Novi, located in Michigan. Prior to that, he was a professor and vice chair of the obstetrics and gynecology division at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown.

In his new role, Dr. Flora will be responsible for all academic-related scholarly activity within the McLaren Health Care system, including administering all McLaren Health Care graduate medical education programs.

Dr. Flora is board certified in public health, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
