Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Health System tapped David Agerter, MD, to serve as director of academic strategy and development, a newly created role.

1. Dr. Agerter currently serves as regional vice president for the health system’s southeast Minnesota region.

2. In his new role, he will focus on strengthening medical education and residency opportunities at Mayo-owned clinics and hospitals.

3. Dr. Agerter will transition to his new role later in the year to allow Mayo Clinic administrators to identify a new regional VP for southeast Minnesota.
