Mr. Wille will assume his new role at the Traverse City-based medical center in September.
He most recently served as the vice president of operations at Allina Health’s United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. He also served as interim president of United Hospital.
Mr. Wille is a former CEO of Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa, and a former vice president of MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa.
He holds master’s degrees in public policy and administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and health care administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He succeeds Al Pilong Jr., who left to lead Manassas, Va.-based Novant Health UVA Health System.
