Worcester, Mass.-based Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital promoted Samantha Gauvin to chief nursing officer.
Ms. Gauvin joined the hospital as a registered nurse in 2016 and most recently served as its director of quality and risk. She will work with the current chief nursing officer, Cathleen Butenewicz, to transition into the role.
"As Sam assumes her new role, she will be able to draw upon her extensive experience at Fairlawn with an in-depth knowledge of operations to guide our journey of continuous improvement across patient care services in a multidisciplinary approach," hospital CEO Peter Lancette said in a LinkedIn post. "I eagerly anticipate Sam applying her expertise, experience and informatics preparedness toward assessing, identifying gaps and implementing new initiatives to deliver the highest quality care."
The 110-bed hospital is a collaboration between UMass Memorial Health and Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health.
