Massachusetts hospital taps chief nursing officer

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Mass., has named Scott James, DNP, RN, senior vice president and chief nursing officer.

Dr. James has spent more than 20 years in healthcare leadership roles at academic health systems. He joins Lahey Hospital & Medical Center from Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, where he was the associate CNO. He has also held leadership positions at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Inova Fairfax Medical Center in Virginia. 

Dr. James started his nursing career as a flight nurse at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. 

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is a tertiary academic medical center and is part of Cambridge, Mass.-based Beth Israel Lahey Health.
