Massachusetts hospital executive heads to BayCare

Timothy Liesching, MD, has joined Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System as vice president and chief medical officer of its medical group.

Dr. Liesching previously served as chief medical officer at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Mass., where he led more than 600 physicians and advanced practice providers. He has more than 20 years of experience in pulmonary and critical care medicine. 

As CMO of the BayCare Medical Group, Dr. Liesching will be responsible for enhancing care delivery models, expanding access to care and serving as the liaison between medical staff and administration, according to an Oct. 22 news release. 

BayCare Medical Group includes more than 900 clinicians and serves five counties in the Tampa Bay, Fla., region.
