Robert Peterson, DSc, CEO of Millinocket Regional Hospital in Millinocket, Maine, will retire July 1 after 12 years in the role.
Dr. Peterson became CEO in June 2014 after serving in administrative roles at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and Windham Hospital in Willimantic, Conn.
During his tenure, the hospital focused on maintaining local access to care and modernizing its campus, including renovating its cancer care and infusion center and expanding its emergency department, which is expected to open later this spring, according to an April 17 hospital news release.
He also led the establishment of the Legacy Medical Foundation, which supports the hospital through philanthropic funding.
Millinocket Regional Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital.
