Louisiana hospital names chief medical officer

Covington, La.-based Lakeview Hospital has named Dewitt Bateman, MD, as chief medical officer, effective June 1.

Dr. Bateman brings more than 25 years of experience as a physician leader and healthcare executive, according to a June 1 Instagram post from the hospital.

Most recently, he served as associate chief medical officer and medical director of perioperative services at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. He also served as acting chief medical officer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his new role, Dr. Bateman will support physicians, care teams and growth initiatives at Lakeview Hospital.
