Longtime Geisinger executive to retire

After a more than 45-year career in healthcare administration and leadership, Conrad W. Schintz, a longtime executive at Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System, plans to retire June 30, according to a Citizens' Voice report.

Since 2005, Mr. Schintz has served as Geisinger's vice president for community relationships. He previously held various other positions at Geisinger, including senior vice president of the Geisinger Eastern Region — which includes Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., numerous physician office locations in an eight-county area and the Marworth Alcohol and Chemical Dependency Treatment Center in Waverly, Pa.

He told the Citizens' Voice Thursday that it's the "perfect time" to retire.

"I'm looking forward to it," Mr. Schintz said, according to the report. "I had a lot of fun and worked really hard and was able to do a lot of things in healthcare and hospital administration and I had the opportunity do them in my hometown and my backyard. It's been great."
