Lompoc Valley Medical Center taps CEO

Lompoc (Calif.) Valley Medical Center named Stephen Popkin CEO, effective in January 2019.

Mr. Popkin is currently CEO of Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center in Riverside, Calif. Of his 32 years of senior healthcare leadership experience, he has spent 18 years in CEO positions. He has worked at for-profit and nonprofit hospitals, health systems, medical groups and management services organizations.

Mr. Popkin holds an MBA from California State University, Los Angeles. He succeeds Jim Raggio, who is retiring after a 20-year tenure.

The hospital’s board of directors and Mr. Popkin are in final negotiations.
