Mr. Spray, who assumed the interim CEO position Sept. 3, has 40-plus years of healthcare leadership experience. His experience includes a previous three-year tenure as CEO of Lincoln Health System. He has also served as leader of two Southern Tennessee Regional Health System campuses in Winchester and Sewanee.
He holds an MBA from Southeastern Institute of Technology in Huntsville, Ala.
Mr. Spray replaces Candie A. Starr, who resigned in August amid financial challenges.
