Kentucky hospital names CEO

Lexington, Ky.-based Appalachian Regional Healthcare has named Joey Waddell CEO of Whitesburg (Ky.) ARH Hospital, effective July 6. 

Mr. Waddell brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience to the role, according to a July 6 LinkedIn post from the health system. Most recently, he served as COO of Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky., a position he held since August 2024.

Before joining Highlands Regional, Mr. Waddell served as COO of Clark Memorial Health in Jeffersonville, Ind. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles including director of diagnostic services and hospital assistant administrator after beginning his healthcare career as an X-ray technologist and nuclear medicine technologist.
